Award winning artist Clara Gilfus Hada grew up in Upstate New York and spent summers drawing and painting near Cayuga Lake. While Clara majored in nursing in college and moved away from New York State; she realized early in her nursing career that her true passion was painting. She received a degree from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and continued training in art while maintaining dual careers as an artist and a nurse. Since Clara made the transition to full time artist, her work has been displayed in multiple galleries, juried exhibits and shows resulting in local, national and international sales and awards.
Clara finds inspiration for her paintings in people, in nature, and in every day life. Her preferred medium is oil, but also enjoys working in acrylic and watercolor. A casual style, expression of light, and use of vivid colors are the foundation of her collection of work that includes landscape, portrait, floral, and still life paintings.
Clara recently moved her studio from Davie, Florida to New Braunfels, Texas and is looking forward to immersing herself and her art in the beauty of Texas Hill Country.
"My idea of success is a lifestyle that doesn't require shoes; I never wear shoes when I paint." .....Clara Hada
