Clara Gilfus Hada grew up in Upstate
New York
and spent summers drawing and painting near
Cayuga Lake
. While Clara majored in nursing in college and moved away from
New York
State
; she realized early in her nursing career that her true passion was painting. She received a degree from the Art Institute of
Fort Lauderdale
and continued training in art while maintaining dual careers as an artist and a nurse. Since Clara made the transition to full time artist two years ago, her work has been displayed in multiple juried exhibits and shows resulting in local, national and international sales.
Clara finds inspiration for her paintings in people, in nature, and in every day life. Her preferred medium is oil, but also enjoys working in acrylic and watercolor. A casual style and use of vivid colors are the foundation of her collection of work that includes landscape, portrait, floral, and still life paintings.
Clara is a member of Oil Painters of
America
, and the Weston Art Guild and is represented by Wolfe Gallery. She resides in
Davie
,
Florida
